There are two things that makes every Bengali happy. Those are, Food and Travel.
An average bengali lives for these two.
There’s a different kind of relationship between Bengalis and travelling. Bengalis are culturally rich. And travelling is one of their culture.
They work hard throughout their life, save money, only to travel the country and the world. They love to experience. They love to explore. Saving money for travelling is an investment for them. It enlishes an enriching experience. From 8 to 80, every Bengali makes plans to travel to their favourite destinations. They travel mostly on summer vacations if they have kids or during the Durga Puja or the Christmas-New year’s times.
I went to Kashmir last year. The natural beauty made me feel like I’m in kashmir but the people around made me feel like I’m in Bengal. Because there were so many Bengalis around me. I turn left and right, I meet a Bengali family. Even the locals could speak in Bengali there. One, because they come to sell shauls in Kolkata from ages, two, maximum tourists visit them are Bengalis. So in a way they learned the language to communicate. I was literally in a shock how the locals in Kashmir which is geographically too far from Bengal, were all flaunting their Bengali speaking skills.
There are a few places in India which is an all time favourite location for every Bengalis. Like, Puri, Kashmir, Agra, Jaipur, Kanyakumari, Shimla, Mysore, Ooty, Varanasi. An amateur Bengali traveller starts his travelling journey with these places in India. (Source : Quaro)
